About me
I’m Eliza Huang, a writer and media-maker born and raised in Shenzhen, China, now based in Evanston, Illinois. I’m a junior at Northwestern University, where I study Radio/Television/Film and English Literature, with minors in Business, Theatre, and Data Science.
My work lives at the intersection of storytelling and production. I’m passionate about writing for the screen and stage, and I experiment across media—including theatre, film, and new forms of narrative—to explore how stories are built, performed, and experienced.
Selected works include:
If the Earth Were Flat, a full-length original dark romantic comedy that was a semifinalist for the 2025 Agnes Nixon New Play Festival and premiered at Northwestern University in Fall 2025.
The Swimmer (June 2023), a 60-minute staged adaptation of John Cheever’s short story, which I wrote, directed, and produced.
If the Earth Were Flat (2025)
The Swimmer (June 2023)
The Seagullman (Nov 2024)
